About Hyku
Initially known as “Hydra-in-a-Box,” Hyku is a next-generation, multi-tenant, easy-to-use repository solution. Based on Hyrax, Hyku is open source and can be used for institutional repository or cultural heritage applications. In addition to archiving institutional records and scholarly content published elsewhere, Hyku can be used to publish:
- Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) and other student scholarship
- Original faculty scholarship
- Open Educational Resources (OER)
- Digital scholarship projects

- Newsletters and other serialized content
